" The well "

Came across this article and I hope you blesses you as well :)

We all ache. Life is like that!
It leaves us with holes in our souls.
And we all reach. We reach for things to soothe us. To comfort us. To make us feel better, or perhaps just to feel numb(the absence of pain).

Perhaps you reach for the comfort of a lover, the tonic of a drink, or the thrill of the forbidden.
There is no greater temptation than to give in to the comfort of pleasure when encountering some form of pain.

When we ache we reach, but when we reach it aches-so we reach again.
Giving in to the temptation of pleasure when confronted with pain creates neural wiring in the brain.
Reaching becomes habitual. At the hint of pain, we reach for temporary pleasures that not only leave us unfulfilled, but are destructive for our life and toxic for our soul.

The Samaritan woman Jesus met by the well.
She ached and spent her life reaching out to empty lovers.
Five husbands later and a current relationship that was outside of marriage, and she was still reaching for something to fill the void.
If she hadn't met Jesus that day by the well, she may have spent the rest of her life on the same roundabout; reaching but never grasping... never finding the kind of medicine that would heal the holes in her soul.

Jesus asked her for a drink. Then He gave her a key to unlock a door into a whole new way of living.
A way that would not leave her aching or reaching.
A way in which she would be made whole and be found complete in a love that would never let her down.
Medicine for her soul.

Jesus simply said, "ask Me."

"Ask Me for a drink and I will give you living water so that you will never thirst again."

Jesus was saying, " I AM the answer that you have been reaching for in all the wrong places.
Not just 'an' answer, but 'the' answer to be grasped at the end of your reach.
Be found in Me."

When we ache or thirst, we too must go to the well. We too must grasp Him, be found in Him, and have the faith to ask Him... ask Him for that same drink.

When you ache, go to the well.

When your life spins out of control, go to the well.

When you're stressed, anxious, depressed, grief stricken or lonely, go to the well.

As you go, give thanks.
Thank Him for living water, like an artesian spring bounding forth from the earth that never runs dry.

An artesian spring is one that rises from deep beneath the earth's surface.
Because of the immense pressure it is under, the spring defies the natural laws of gravity and forces its way upwards through the earth's surface, creating a spring that continually flows, clean and crystal clear.
Artesian springs provide us with the purest water we have.

Jesus is like this.
He is our artesian spring in times of unthinkable pressure. Under that same pressure, He laid down His life and then against the laws of nature, took it up again and became our source of everlasting hope.
A source of crystal clear, clean, pure life that never runs dry.

So the next tie you ache, instead of reaching for the same old hollow pleasures and dysfunctional methods of coping, reach for the Living Water.
Dare to ask the One who gave up His life for you, to give you the water of life that will quench your desperate aches and heal the holes in your soul.

When you grasp Him, are found in Him, and have the faith to ask Him, you begin to discover what it is to truly live. So what are you waiting for?
Go! He's over there... at the well.
