Oh hello there, it's been a long while.
Towards the last one month of intern life; how do I feel about it?
I could only be thankful that I'm alive and still surviving. Not that it was tough.
It was being an intern that challenged me.
There were people who were patient with me, people who tried to understand my circumstances.
But there were also people who questioned my pace, my knowledge, my ability, who had unrealistic expectations of me, who forgot I'm an fresh new intern being attached there for a month plus.
It isn't that long to begin with, with all the off days and PHs, it is definitely way less than expected. On top of that, everything there was new, I have to take in and digest them day by day.
In terms of all that doubts, I do admit I'm not any where near their expectations of me.
I don't ask for anything either. Just hope that people would put themselves in my shoes.
To feel that as an intern, there were countless of times that I feel helpless because I didn't have the courage to ask questions thinking that I might get scolding for "not knowing it yet", or that why am I bothering them with such " trivial things". Countless of times when I got really confused with different approaches from different people. Countless of times when I thought I could handle but I couldn't.
Countless of times when I doubt my own ability in doing things.
I had to learn to step out of my comfort zone and take responsibilities.
Now before you think I'm suffering or being an ungrateful person.
I am very very grateful for nice preceptor, sister and staff that guided me through the past month(s) despite being only an intern.
